The ancient castle Machaerus was built by Herod the great, Herod Antibes.  Imprisoned John the Baptist, and where the beautiful Salome danced for him, and he presented to her the head of John the Baptist to honor her wishes.

Dhiban

Dhiban

Ancient once-walled city, most famed as the site at which the Mesha Stele was discovered in 1865.The stone, recounting the needs of the King Mesha, was partly destroyed during an altercation in 1865.  South of Dhiban, El Qasr is the site of a ruined Nabatean temple. South of El Qasr is the Rabbath, which is mentioned in the Bible.

Umm el-Rassas

Umm El-Rassas

Site of a large & ancient encampment once surrounded by a formidable stone wall. On the northern extremity of the site are the remains of the Byzantine Church of ST. Stephens. This mosaic floor of the church is preserved .It is outstanding .A mysterious watchtower also remains os Umm el –Rassas (1330 meters of the settlement); strange in that there is one chamber at the top of the tower , with no apparent means to ascend to it .A chapel at the foot of the tower was unearthed in 1987.

Kerak

Kerak

Dominating the walled city of Kerak is a massive Crusader built on a craggy plateau 4,300 feet above sea level. Built in 1136 as part of long line of Crusader mountaintop castles that defended the route from Aqaba in the south to Turkey in the north, Crac de Moab's also called Qer Harreseth is a staggering human achievement. Constructed in huge blocks of stones, the castle stand four stories high. Inside the Fort a cross-vaulted galleries, stables, halls, towers and secret passages. The Crusaders managed to hold it for 50 years until 1189, when SALAH AL-DIN (Saladin) defeated the Crusaders.

Shobak

Shobak

Situated some 20 Kilometers north of Petra is the Crusader Castle of Shobak. Built around 1115, it was besieged repeatedly by Saladin and finally captured in 1189. Perched on a narrow road, which affords spectacular views of the surrounding barren hillsides. Except for its outside walls, square keep, and a dungeon, the castle is virtually a ruin.

Jordan abounds the richest archaeological sights ,from Neolithic ruins to Desert Castles to most national treasure  The Rose city Of Petra .Petra is the legacy of the Nabataeans  Arabs who settled 2000  years  ago built their Kigdomeendured for centuries , massive architecture, ingenious complex of dams & water channels .Petra most famous monument , the Treasury  called as Al-KHazneh- appears dramatically at the end of the Siq ,this is one of the most elegant remains of antiquity, carved out of the solid rock from the side of the mountain, is nearly 140 feet high and 90 feet wide. Beyond El Khazneh the visitor is surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra’s carved and built structures, soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a carved Roman theater, large and small houses, burial chambers and much more. On top of one Petra Mountains stands the tomb of Aaron, Prophet Moses brother. A Palace Tomb in the Roman style a gigantic  1st century  Deir ( Monastery ) .Streets of Facades  the Urn, Corinthian , the Nymphaeum ,the Triumphal Arch and Qasr el Bint .Palace & silk  tombs, ,the  Colonnaded street, the Nymphaeum, the Triumphal Arch  and the Turkamaniya tomb.

Some 70 KM north east of Ababa lies Wadi Rum The home of “Lawrence of Arabia”, as he described it " Vast, echoing and God-like " The most largest& magnificent landscape in Jordan, with countless valleys of stunning beauty, from the knife –edged dunes of Wadi Araba to the Wadi Mujeb, a wild life reserve .Trekkers& Hikers and cliff climbing on Jabal Rum .A vast silent place that is both romantic and starkly beautiful. Massive mountains rise vertically out of the pink desert sand, which separates one dark mass from another. The faces of those sheer rock cliffs have been eroded by the wind into faces of men, animals and monsters. The entrance to the valley is guarded by a castle-like police post, which is manned by the famous Desert Patrol. , and Bedouin tents are spread in the valley where they serve lunches & dinners with sleeping tents for those who wants to say goodnight to the moon and good morning to the golden sun.

Aqaba brings release from the rose colored desert, to the sandy beaches and coral reefs which Jordanians hope to preserve them. Aqaba reef is healthy & thriving with untold variety in its coral and rare most colorful kinds of fish including the harmless and biggest in the world the whale shark. Most of sea sports are in Aqaba from diving- snorkeling – sailing- swimming … and glass bottom- boats. A Mamluk Fort was built by Richard the lion , in this century the fort was used by Arab Revolt.
